It's a little embarrassing to admit, but a friend and I went to a speed dating event last week, partly as a joke and partly out of curiosity.
I'm not that bothered about being newly single, I'll find the right person when it's meant to happen rather than go looking, but I agreed to go to see what it was like anyway.
It was definitely an experience! Some of the people were relatively attractive, some not. But when we got down to the 2 minute 'dates' it soon became apparent that most of them were boring.

One was a wannabe stand-up comedian who tried out a few sexist jokes on me, (good call!) and another spent the two minutes describing his job in depth - I asked what he did for a living, not for a lesson on colocation services!
It was definitely a laugh, or it was for my friend and I afterwards! It's safe to say we won't be doing that again!
